When history repeats, it doesn’t always have to look the same.
The Boston Tea Party of 1773 has always stood as a powerful symbol of resistance ordinary people standing up to a system they believed was unjust. It was bold, defiant, and unforgettable. But what happens when we reimagine that moment through today’s lens?
That’s where our newest design comes in. Instead of crates of tea being tossed into Boston Harbor, you’ll see blocks of ice, tricorns perched on top, being hurled into the water. On the dock, melting ice cubes sit like quiet witnesses, slowly dissolving under the weight of history. It’s both familiar and strikingly new.
This shirt represents what we stand for: resistance doesn’t always need to shout, but it should always be clear. Our art swaps tea for ice, blending the story of America’s fight for freedom with the present-day fight for justice, compassion, and dignity. It’s a reminder that systems of oppression can melt away when enough of us choose to act.
Designed and printed right here in Santa Cruz, this shirt is part of the same small-batch ethos we’ve carried since the beginning. Subtle, bold, and unapologetic; it’s not just a shirt, it’s a statement.
The Boston Tea Party showed the world what defiance looked like in the 18th century. Our Melt Ice shirt shows what it looks like today.
